WEATHER UPDATE : for Monday, October 7th, due to the rainfall that we have already received and the forecast of additional rain this afternoon and into the evening we will not be holding any MatchPlay Soccer or Flag Football practices this evening. We WILL still be holding CFC team meetings in rooms FC201, 203, 204 & 206 reserved from 5:15 - 6:50 pm.
Fall Soccer registrations opened on June 1, 2013! Registration for the Spring 2014 season will begin December 1, 2013!!
Colonial is blessed to have wonderful facilities for soccer. Colonial offers soccer programs for children from 4 years old extending through 12th grade. Colonial soccer leagues are designed to teach and develop a player's skills while incorporating a positive Christian influence. The league also provides a great opportunity for outreach as you are encouraged to invite others to register their children for the league! If you are looking for a more "competitive" level of soccer , please select the Soccer - CFC Challenge tab on the left hand side of this page.

As you would expect, the success of our Developmental and MatchPlay soccer leagues is greatly dependent on having parents and others volunteer to help. Please consider being involved as either an Assistant Coach or Head Coach. We will have Coaches meetings which will include going through the coaches materials for you to be prepared, even if you have never previously coached soccer.
SOCCER BALL and FIELD SIZES
Many questions have been asked regarding the correct ball size for each age group. The sizes are as follows: Developmental soccer will use a size 3 or 4 soccer ball, 1st-8th graders will use a size 4, and U14 and all high school teams will use a size 5 soccer ball. Also, field sizes will be as follows: 1st & 2nd grade and 3rd - 5th grades will play from 50-70yd long and 40-50yd wide. 5th - 8th will play on 100yd long and 50yd wide.
DEVELOPMENTAL LEAGUE (pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten):
This is for boys and girls from 4 years old* through kindergarten for the 2013 - 2014 school year. *If you have a very athletic 3 year old, we will allow him/her to play so long as you feel they will listen to the coaches and would enjoy playing. The children will meet once per week for one hour on Saturdays starting on September 21, 2013 and ending on October 26, 2013 (6 sessions), here at Colonial. Boys and girls are separated (not co-ed) and regarding the team size we try to limit it to no more than 10 children. They will begin to learn basic skills through fun games and have an opportunity for a "mini-scrimmage" each Saturday morning. Potential Saturday practice/scrimmage time slots will be 9:15 am, 10:30 am, and 11:45 am. Upon being placed at a specific time slot, the player will play at that same time slot throughout the season. As this is the first organized team sport most of these children will have participated in, and the fact that since each team practices & scrimmages against players on their own team, eliminating the need to make sure the teams are "equally skilled", we will attempt to honor "same team" player requests for the Developmental Soccer League. We will also attempt to place returning players on the same team, unless otherwise requested. There is not an evaluation night for this league. The fee for this league is $35.
Equipment requirements for this league include tennis shoes (rubber cleats optional), shin guards, socks that will cover the shin guards, and sports shorts preferably without pockets. You will also need to have either a size 3 or size 4 soccer ball; please make sure your child's name is clearly and boldly written on it with a permanent marker! Just so you know for planning purposes, the 1st/2nd grade division will use a size 4 ball.

MATCH PLAY LEAGUE (1st - 12th grades): This is our recreational league, if you are interested in our Challenge league please see info for this league also on this website.
Update: Registration for the Fall Match Play Soccer League has gone to a wait list. Since registration closed Tuesday, August 13th at 9 pm following the Evaluation Night, please go ahead at this time and register for our wait list.
This is for boys and girls in the 1st through 12th grades as governed by their public or private school grade eligibility guidelines. We require they be 6 years old on or before October 16, 2013. The league will consist of 8 divisions (4 girls and 4 boys, 1st & 2nd, 3rd - 5th, 5th - 8th, 9th - 12th). Practices will be held once per week either on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (depending on coach availability) from 6:00 - 7:15pm (there might be the option to practice from 5:15pm - 6:30pm), starting in mid/late August. You will get to exclude one practice night option. Once a team practice day is established, it will stay that same night for the season. Games will begin the weekend of September 13th and conclude the weekend of October 25th (7 games). Games are 60 minutes in duration and you can expect most of the games will be on Saturday's sometime from 9am - 7pm, and/or Sunday afternoons )2:00pm - 6:30pm). All games are played at Colonial. The 1st & 2nd grade division will play 6 vs 6 (including the goalie), the 3rd - 5th grade and 5th - 8th grade leagues will play 8 v 8, and the 9th -12th grade divisions will play 11 v 11. All teams are limited in number such that every player gets an opportunity to play at least 1/2 of each game. The fee for this league is $60.
To help create "equally skilled" teams, there will be a MANDATORYevaluation night on Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm for ALL players that did not play in our 2013 SPRING MATCH PLAY soccer league. The evaluation will take place out on the soccer fields on the campus of Colonial Baptist Church. Please have your children bring a ball, shin guards and cleats with them to the evaluation as they will be scrimmaging in addition to going through drills. If the player participated in the Spring Match Play league, each coach completed a "post season" evaluation form gauging their skill level and therefore we ask that they do not attend the "Evaluation night".
As our Sports Ministry has grown to the extent that we now have more than 3000 participants annually, the number of "same team player requests" and "specific coach requests" has reached the point that we are no longer able to accommodate all the requests due to time constraints along with our desire to attempt to create "equally skilled" teams. With that being said, as this is a ministry in which we use sports as a way to reach NEW families, we will accommodate requests to play together on the same team in which the person(s) you have invited has not previously participated in the league in which you have registered to play. Due to the number of participants, we do not accommodate specific coaching requests unless the coach invited you into the league and this is the first time your child has participated in one of our leagues.
