T-Ball & Machine Pitch Baseball

T-Ball

Colonial T-Ball leagues are designed to teach and develop a young player's skills while incorporating a positive Christian influence.  Additionally, our desire is to help prepare children for their future participation in sports, as well as life.

The league is co-ed and while it is intended for children between 5 - 7 years old, we will allow 4 year olds to play if you think it would be okay for your child playing with kindergartners and 1st graders. On rare occasions we will allow older children to play T-Ball in the event the player is at a beginner's level and is ok with playing with mostly younger children.  There are no evaluations performed for this league. Teams will have one practice per week on Monday, Tuesday , Wednesday, or Thursday evenings from 6:15pm - 7:30 pm and a game on 7 Saturdays. On the registration form you will get the opportunity to exclude 1 of the practice night options.  Once a team practice day is set, the practice day will remain the same day each week.  The first game will be on April 5, 2014 and the last one will be on May 31, 2014 (7 total games will be played as we will not play Easter nor Memorial Day weekends). The games will be played at 9:00 am and 10:15 am (if our registration numbers are high, then there will also be games played at 11:30 am) all here at Colonial.

During each practice, a "team meeting" will be held in which the coaches will go through an ~10 minute team devotion. This information will be provided to the coaches.

Players will need a glove, tennis shoes or rubber cleats (optional), and black baseball pants without pockets. Jerseys, hats, balls, bats, and helmets will be provided. We will play on a lined field which will include team benches for the players and an outfield fence. The registration fee is $45.

As this is a ministry in which we use sports as a way to reach NEW families, we will accommodate requests to play together on the same team as long as the person(s) you have invited has not previously participated in the league in which you have registered to play. Due to the number of participants, we do not accommodate specific coaching requests unless it was the coach who invited you into the league and this is the first time your child has participated in one of our leagues.

Machine Pitch Baseball

Machine Pitch Baseball is a great way to continue to develop the fundamental skills required to be a baseball player. Additionally, our desire is to help prepare children for their future participation in sports as well as life.

The league is co-ed and is open to children from 6 years old through 6th grades.  The league will consist of at least 2 age divisions with the exact age split to be determined based on registration numbers however it is usually 6 year olds - 3rd grade and 4th - 6th grades. To help create "equally skilled" teams, there will be 1 mandatory evaluation night on Tuesday, March 11th from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Teams will have one practice per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings from 6:15pm - 7:30 pm and a game on 7 Saturdays.  On the registration form you will get the opportunity to exclude 1 of the practice night options. Once a team practice day is set, the practice day will remain the same day each week.  The first game will be on April 5, 2014 and the last one will be on May 31, 2014 (7 total games as we will not play Easter nor Memorial Day weekends).  The games will be played at either 11:45 am, 1:00pm, 2:15pm (if our registration numbers are high, then there will also be games played at 3:30pm) here at Colonial.

During each practice, a "team meeting" will be held in which the coaches will go through an ~10 minute team devotion. Devotion materials will be provided to the coaches.

Players will need a glove, tennis shoes or rubber cleats (optional), and black baseball pants without pockets. Jerseys, hats, balls, bats, and helmets will be provided. We will play on a lined field which will include team benches for the players and an outfield fence. The registration fee is $60.

As you would expect, the success of our Machine Pitch Baseball League is greatly dependent on having parents and others volunteer to help. Please consider being involved as either an Assistant Coach or Head Coach. We will be holding a Machine Pitch coaches meeting on Tuesday, March 18 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in room FC206 (2nd floor of the Family Center).

As our Sports Ministry has grown to the extent that we now have more than 3000 participants annually, the number of "same team player requests" and "specific coach requests" has reached the point that we are no longer able to accommodate all the requests due to time constraints along with our desire to attempt to create "equally skilled" teams.

With that being said, as this is a ministry in which we use sports as a way to reach NEW families, we will accommodate requests to play together on the same team in which the person(s) you have invited has not previously participated in the league in which you have registered to play. Due to the number of participants, we do not accommodate specific coaching requests unless it was the coach who invited you into the league and this is the first time your child has participated in one of our leagues.
